In an effort to restart the clean energy economy in New York State, beginning June 1st, 2020, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) in partnership with Green Jobs Green New York (GJGNY) has rolled out a 0% interest financing loan for energy efficiency projects, including, but not limited to geothermal heating & cooling.
What are the details of the loan?
NYSERDA will offer the GJGNY 0% financing for 1-4 family residential, small commercial (100 employees or less) and not-for-profit applicants to finance eligible energy efficiency improvements (this includes geothermal heating & cooling) and renewable energy systems for terms of 5, 10 or 15 years. The 0% financing will be offered to loan applicants for a promotional period of up to 12-months, or until available funds are exhausted (you can track the amount of funding remaining here).
Who is Eligible to apply?
The 0% financing will be available to everyone. There are no income or geographic location limits. The GJGNY loan fund will finance all eligible technologies, including energy efficiency, solar, air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, and Renewable Heat NY.
