EYA Selects Geothermal as their Luxury HVAC Solution at Strathmore View
EYA needed an HVAC system that matched the luxury standard of its townhomes: quiet, consistent, and out of sight.
Maryland moves to all-electric new construction in 2027, and Montgomery County’s energy codes are already among the region’s toughest. EYA needed a system that met both without compromising the design, the build, or the buyer experience.
Eliminate outdoor condensers. On four-story brownstones, condensers are a design headache: they need roof or pad space, screening, and long refrigerant line runs, plus extra lifts, roof penetrations, and trade coordination during construction. For buyers, they mean noise and lost space on the rooftop terraces and rear patios that sell an infill home.
Deliver luxury-level comfort. Buyers expect consistent, cost-effective heating and cooling, even in extreme weather.
Get ahead of the mandate. Phase out gas heating before Maryland and Montgomery County require it.
Geothermal: an efficient, reliable, and future-proofed system
Air source heat pumps lose efficiency in extreme temperatures and need outdoor units. Geothermal does neither. Dandelion integrated geothermal into Strathmore View’s site development, drilling an individual vertical loop for each home. EYA absorbed the added cost as a strategic investment that will shape its product offering going forward.

Loops drilled before the foundations went in
Dandelion’s rigs drilled an individual vertical loop for each townhome during early foundation work, so the system takes up no yard, patio, or roof space.
A product that’s luxurious and differentiated
DMV-area buyers embraced geothermal as an eco-friendly luxury upgrade. Strathmore View shows that going all-electric doesn’t mean trading down. The right system can be the reason buyers choose the home.
