A Shared Vision for Clean Energy

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Con Edison to make reliable geothermal heating affordable to thousands of additional homeowners in Westchester for the first time,” said Kathy Hannun, CEO of Dandelion Energy. “Con Edison and Dandelion share a vision of widespread renewable heating and cooling infrastructure that is more reliable, efficient, and affordable than the fossil fuel alternatives.”

“A geothermal system provides comfortable, environmentally friendly and affordable heating and cooling,” said Vicki Kuo, director of Energy Efficiency Programs for Con Edison. “We’re working with Dandelion to dramatically reduce the upfront costs and make it easy for Westchester residential customers to adopt this technology.”

This joint effort highlights how utility companies and clean energy innovators can work together to bring sustainable solutions directly to local communities.

A Customer Success Story

Some Westchester homeowners are already benefiting from their Dandelion Energy home geothermal systems.

One example is Bill Gerosa, who installed his geothermal system in October 2018. Already a solar customer, Bill wanted to complement his investment with a cleaner, more efficient way to heat and cool his home.

“The heat from the Dandelion geothermal heat pump is far more even than our old, natural gas furnaces could provide. Even during the coldest nights of winter when temperatures were as low as 0 degrees F our geothermal system produced heat was even and plentiful.

Our entire experience with Dandelion Energy was extremely positive. They answered our numerous questions and provided all of the information we needed to understand our geothermal system. The Dandelion home geothermal system was not only a great investment in terms of comfort and reliability, it was also a great financial investment that will continue to pay for itself for years to come
