Methodology

Inc. ranks companies on the 2023 Inc. 5000 by their percentage revenue growth from 2019 to 2022. To qualify, a company must have started and generated revenue by March 31, 2019. Eligible companies operate in the U.S., remain privately held, for-profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2022. Some companies on the list have since gone public or completed acquisitions. To qualify, companies needed at least $100,000 in revenue for 2019 and $2 million for 2022. Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. The team calculated growth rates to four decimal places when determining rankings.
